Do you give free estimates?
Yes — every project gets a free in-home estimate with a written line-item quote. We walk the rooms or the exterior with you, ask about colors and product preferences, take measurements, and send a written quote within 48 hours. No pressure tactics, no "call you back tomorrow with a discount" games.
How long does an interior repaint take?
A single room (walls only, occupied home, light prep) is usually a one-day job. Whole-home interior repaints with ceilings and trim typically run 3-5 days for a 1,800-2,500 sq ft home, depending on prep volume. Cabinet painting adds 3-4 days because the doors are removed, sprayed off-site, and reinstalled.
How does popcorn ceiling removal work?
For homes built before 1980, we test the texture for asbestos before scraping. After that's clear, the floor is fully masked and the popcorn is wet-scraped down to the drywall. We skim-coat any unevenness, finish smooth (most common) or with a contemporary knockdown, then prime for paint. A single 12x12 room is usually a one-day removal; whole-house is 3-5 days.
What paint brands do you use?
For interior: Sherwin-Williams ProClassic, Cashmere, or Emerald depending on the finish. For exterior: Sherwin-Williams Duration or Benjamin Moore Aura. For cabinets: Benjamin Moore Advance or Sherwin Emerald Urethane Trim. We stock all standard sheens. If you have a specific brand or product preference, we'll use it.
Do you do new-construction work?
Yes — ABC Paint Co works directly with general contractors and custom-home builders across Gaston County and the Charlotte metro. Full interior paint packages, exterior body + trim, drywall installation, and deck builds on new homes. Referral list available for builders running multiple jobs.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — ABC Paint Co carries general liability + workers' comp insurance on every job. Certificate of insurance available on request, especially for property managers, realtors, HOAs, and general contractors running repeat work.
What about decks and fences — what wood do you use?
For new builds: pressure-treated southern yellow pine (standard, most cost-effective), western red cedar (premium, better weathering), or composite (Trex / TimberTech, longest life). For staining and weatherproofing, we use Cabot or PPG semi-transparent products that genuinely hold up to NC sun + humidity. Cycle every 2-3 years on most decks.

Headquartered in Gastonia — we cover all of Gaston County (Belmont, Mount Holly, Cramerton, Bessemer City, Stanley, Dallas, Cherryville, Lowell, McAdenville), plus Charlotte metro into Mecklenburg County, Lincolnton in Lincoln Co., and Shelby + Kings Mountain in Cleveland Co.
